So Solid Crew’s 21 Years of 21 Seconds tour comes to Manchester
Legendary garage group celebrate 21 years of their iconic 21 seconds tune in a knock-out show on 17th September 2022
The garage giants, So Solid Crew are celebrating 21 years since exploding onto the scene with their incredible tune 21 Seconds To Go. Garage, Grime, Hip-Hop? Yes, yes, yes. These guys led the way winning the Best Newcomer & Best UK Garage Act at the Mobo Awards in 2001 for their iconic track. They turned garage music on its head, lacing it with heavyweight MCs and a darker sound, paving the way for what would become grime music in the UK.
Before their meteoric rise in the charts, So Solid Crew cut their teeth in London’s pirate radio stations Supreme FM and Delight FM. They released their album They Don’t Know in October 2001 which was closely followed up by Oh No (Sentimental Things) and then 21 Seconds To Go. The production topped with their angelic vocals and heavyweight MCing created a sound the UK went mad for. Envy (They Don’t Know Vocal Remix) is a textbook belter, with its heavy rolling bassline and Ms Dynamite’s infectious vocals.
So Solid Crew defined the underground scene, and their success has been unmatched by any other garage crews or collectives. We are gassed to have So Solid Crew come back to Manchester for their 21 Years of 21 Seconds tour. This show is not one to be missed. Get your mates and get down to Academy for a solid night of tracks performed by garage’s very best. Tickets are available at official ticket link.
